As we emerge from the pandemic and recover from the economic challenges of the past two years, many of us are actively doing our best to support local businesses.

If you live in Adelaide, South Australia, it doesn’t get any more local than Ditters Nuts. We are a well-known local brand, famous for fruit and nut products of distinction. The Ditters brand was established in 1918 by a hardworking and ambitious German migrant named Otto Kurt Ditter, a trained horticulturalist. It is still operational today, more than 100 years on.

Ditters is famous for glacé fruit which has even been sent to the United Kingdom by royal order of HRH Princess Margaret back in 1945! Our glacé fruit is available all year round for baking, gift giving, and simply enjoying at any time.

We have been quiet over the last few decades, however, there are now stirrings! The company was acquired 3 years ago by a South Australian family with the intention of re-establishing the iconic South Australian brand. Our current owners reside in Adelaide and are committed to partnering with local businesses to produce the beautiful fruit and nut products we are still well-known for.

How Ditters is truly an Adelaide local:

Products

Our gourmet cakes are made in Adelaide according to the same original family recipe. Some of our chocolate range is also made locally in Adelaide. We use and sell a lot of Australian fruit, including our dried stone fruit, pears, and muscatel grapes, which are from the SA Riverland region. We also use Australian nuts wherever possible, such as macadamias, almonds, pistachios, pecans, and walnuts, which we roast in small batches. All our products are packed in Adelaide and distributed from Adelaide.

Packaging

Our cake boxes and all our product labels are designed and printed by local Adelaide suppliers. Our recyclable gift trays are made in Adelaide. All our outer packaging, such as cartons and tape, are from a local South Australian supplier.

Marketing & Design

Our social media channels, website, and marketing materials are all designed and managed right here in Adelaide.
